To improve the efficiency of on-site fault diagnosis and the heating quality of residential areas, this paper proposes a rapid fault diagnosis method for residential heating systems based on Modelica simulation.Firstly,a Modelica model of the heating system of a residential area in Xi’an is established, and the model is calibrated using field-measured operating data.Subsequently,by adjusting model parameters, faults are introduced artificially to simulate and analyse the system operation status when various common faults occur in heating systems. Finally,by comparing the system operation data in fault and normal states,a field fault diagnosis flowchart for residential heating systems is summarized.Verified by system simulation, this flowchart can realize fault detection and isolation when multiple faults occur simultaneously.Since the overall structure of heating systems in northern residential areas is relatively similar, the quick-check flowchart proposed in this paper can be applied to the daily operation and maintenance of other similar heating systems.
